
Cooperativa Tempo Libero is a non-profit-making social co-operative acknowledged by Regione Lombardia in the field of vocational/educational guidance and training. It is certified by the International Certification Network IQNet fulfilling the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. Since 1987 Tempo Libero has been working in the field of information, vocational/educational guidance and socio-educational services (youth work) aimed at young people and adults, employed and unemployed, public and private employees, with special attention to the disadvantaged (young people looking for their first job, women trying to go back to work, immigrants). Tempo Libero conceives also new actions related to information and dissemination of opportunities addressed to young people within the European Union, in that it promotes information and guidance meetings in universities, schools and youth centres. Its participation and contact with European networks let Tempo Libero realise many projects concerned with mobility (Exchanges, European Voluntary Service, Leonardo da Vinci), but also create networks related to youth information, social inclusion and mobility, and take part into an Italian network of organisations involved in promoting a high-quality planning at European level. Since 1997 Tempo Libero has been working within the EU-Programme Youth (now called Youth in Action) – Action 2: European Voluntary Service (EVS); Tempo Libero has sent more than 200 young people to many EU-Countries and Countries of Eastern Europe. Since 1999 Tempo Libero has been hosting organisation within the European Voluntary Service and up to now it has received more than 150 young people from all European Countries within projects related to social and cultural fields. Since 2004 Tempo Libero has been active within the Leonardo da Vinci Programme with the following projects: “ITACA – Information Technologies and Communication Abilities”, “MERCURIO”, “3S – Social Sector Services: towards social inclusion”, “HIT – Hotel Industry and Tourism” and “STAR – Social Tourism As Resource”; these projects has supplied young people with mobility grants for professional training experiences abroad.
