Graphic Design, Visual and Media Art are vocational specialisation studies in Visual Expression. In Audiovisual Communication the main studies are animation and web-design. In Visual and Media Art the students specialize in Graphic Arts which uses non-toxic methods and has a paper workshop with a hollander. Visual and Media Art department has all equipment required speaking about graphic arts: two printmaking presses, tools for woodcut and photo-based printmaking. Department has also a studio for papermaking, painting and drawing. Studies in Visual Expression and Audiovisual Communication give the students a wide and extensive basic training for the field. In Graphic Design and Audiovisual Communication department there are three classrooms with mac-computers available for the students. Computers and programs are regularly updated. A new audiostudio has built for audio and video studies. In autumn 2005 the Graphic Design Department celebrated its 20th anniversary. The students’ future needs are tightly connected to the aims of the international activities of Lybecker Institute of Crafts and Design. We aim at creating and establishing permanent cooperation with foreign institutions and on-the-job-learning places. We also emphasize multicultural knowledge and the meaning of teamwork and social skills. These aims are not only implemented in the exchanges done by our students abroad but also by the exchange students coming to our institute. We aim at meeting the demands of the international job-market.
