Schedule: The mobility project will take place between 1st of September 2007 - 31st of May 2009
The Main Aims and Needs
- to develop vocational training in visual communications sector in upper secondary level vocational education – teaching special know-how in every institute taking part to the project – all partners also benefit from the project
- to give 138 Finnish students possibilities to have exchange period (8-16 weeks each) and show their skills in working places (at least two weeks on the job learning periods in each exchange) and receive equal amount of students from project partners - the placement is an integral part of the vocational training course
- to increase cooperation between training organizations and working life by giving exchange students possibilities to show their skills in working companies abroad
- to increase European partner network
- to use innovative solutions in collaboration:
- Using Learning environment (www.skto.fi/moodle) in project management, language and cultural training, supervising and guiding exchange students. The network has created good practices and contents in previous ArtECult project in the e-learning environment
- Using art in bringing internationalism as part of the everyday life – similar Cultural/intercultural themes in every student’s exchange period in each part taking institute – common intercultural and public “Portfolio” on-line and as an art exhibitions in partner countries (each student produces some art works during their exchange period – a cultural and aesthetic way of handling internationalism and interculturalism – similar theme for everyone)
Project outcomes
- Experience in international on the job learning and professional skills demonstrations abroad and skills demonstrations abroad. The educational institutions in the KUIKKA network have central goal to utilize skills demonstrations (quality control and evaluation) as a part of the international job-learning
- Participants will learn intercultural cooperation skills
- Participants will understand that their professional skills are international and they can take part in the international work market - 138 exchange students who have been showing their skills abroad – best concrete knowledge and practises about the subject for the cultural sector
- Art on the move - art exhibitions in partner institutes and in internet and Common intercultural and public student’s ”art - portfolios” on-line and as an art exhibition (and Touring exhibition in each partner country)
- Web pages for the project for dissemination
- Project managers in each participating country will write articles in professional journals about results and good examples
- Cooperating European network of cultural sector institutes and working life
- International contact and project management area in the Moodle e-learning environment, new country based language and cultural trainings in the learning environment and the international on the job learning tutorial directed for the work organizations (project will use open source based Moodle in project management, during the exchange and evaluations and in producing the language and cultural trainings before the exchange period as well as producing the on the job learning tutorial for the receiving work organization)
